Thursday

waiting

for those soft soles to trace across the worn down floor
a soft gaze as you wipe away those tears
that fall, so slow
graceful
a veil to stained cheeks

waiting

please my dear don't wait
don't hold those fairytales deep into that scarred heart
 those blackened clouds blanket over blue skies
no longer will those feet walk their path

leave just a heartbeat
stealing fireflies in a broken soul

waiting

don't wait
don't hold that sweet breath
let go

let go of me

Friday

my heart you crush like a butterfly between your palms
break it down into beautiful colours across your skin
smooth it down into every cell
leaving no trace for me to hold on to

my chest
like a weight sown up inside
i try
to breathe
but nothing

tears they roll down my cold
unloved cheeks

these eyes hold no soul
you have stripped me down
to this bare skeleton

and love

impossible
